Alacare Accreditation Renewed by Joint Commission
Birmingham, Alabama—By demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Alacare Home Health & Hospice has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.
“We sought to renew accreditation for Alacare because we want to demonstrate our commitment to our patients’ safety and quality care,” says Susan B. Brouillette, MPH, MBA, Alacare’s Chief Executive Officer. We view obtaining the renewal of our Joint Commission accreditation as another step in achieving and maintaining excellence.”
“In becoming accredited, Alacare Home Health & Hospice was evaluated against a set of national standards by a Joint Commission team of surveyors experienced in the delivery of home care services,” says Maryanne Popovich, RN, Executive Director, Home Care Accreditation Program, Joint Commission. “Achieving accreditation demonstrates Alacare’s commitment to providing high quality and safe care to its patients.”
Accreditation is awarded for a three-year period ending in April 2009. The accreditation extends to all of Alacare’s 23 offices throughout the state.
