Cathy Deck Wins Alacare Services Integration Award Albertville, AL—Cathy Deck, RN, has been awarded the Alacare Services Integration Award for Staff. Deck is a home care nurse in Alacare’s Albertville Branch.
“This award is new in 2005 and honors a staff member who has demonstrated extraordinary enthusiasm for and dedication to the integration of home health and hospice services for our patients,” said Alacare’s President, John G. Beard, JD, MBA. “Cathy is a perfect example of just such an employee.”
Although Deck’s primary responsibility is as a home care nurse, she always provides the best possible care at whatever level the patient requires.
“Cathy is able to quickly identify patients who are appropriate for hospice and is comfortable approaching patients and their families about end-of-life issues, explaining it in terms they can understand,” said Debra Leonard, RN, Alacare’s Director of Patient Care Services. “She is an outspoken advocate for hospice, leads by example in her branch, and excels in patient care.”
