CAREGIVERS WANTED......... WORKSHOPS PROVIDE ASSISTANCE
FOR CAREGIVERS AND CARE RECIPIENTS
Birmingham, AL - Commissioner George Bowman, Jefferson County Commission, and William Voigt, executive director, Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizens Services (OSCS) are pleased to announce Alabama Cares of Jefferson County (ACJC) recently received a grant to assist caregivers who care for the elderly with Alzheimer's Disease.
According to Dr. Barbara Brown Anderson, coordinator of Senior Citizens Services OSCS, six workshops will be offered beginning on April 8, 2008, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program will conclude in August 2008. Led by professional experts in their respective fields, these workshops will cover a variety of topics to include dementia, stress, finance, legal issues, and dietary needs. In collaboration with Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity (JCCEO), the sessions will convene at Saint Joseph Senior Center located at 1013 - 30th Street, Ensley, Birmingham, AL.
