FREE COUPON BOOKLETS TO SENIOR ADULTS FOR THE SENIOR FARMERS MARKET NUTRITION PROGRAM

 

The Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizens Services (OSCS), in conjunction with the State Farmers Market Authority, will be distributing 10,760 FREE coupon booklets valued at $28.00 for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).  This program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs for older adults throughout Jefferson County. 

 

To participate in this program individuals must be sixty (60) years of age or older, live in Jefferson County, have an income of less than $18,200 ($1,517 per month) for a single household, $24,500 ($2,042 per month) or less for a household of two, and $30,800 ($2,567 per month) or less for a household of three. 

 

Each eligible participant must bring proof of identification, such as a driver's license to receive a FREE booklet of coupons valued at $28.  Only one (1) booklet of coupons per person will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Below is a list of the days and location sites.  For additional information, call 325-1416.
