2/10/2010 - The movie Warrior Champions: From Baghdad to Beijing on February 16, 2010 at WorkPlay.

Lakeshore Foundation is partnering with the United States Olympic Committee to host a screening of Warrior Champions: From Baghdad to Beijing on February 16, 2010 at WorkPlay.

Come and experience the inspiring and emotional story of four severely wounded military personnel as they fight to turn injuries of war into Paralympic dreams.

After losing limbs and suffering paralysis while fighting for their country in Iraq, veterans Kortney Clemons, Scott Winkler, Melissa Stockwell and Carlos Leon set out to do what many thought impossible; to compete in the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. Winkler and Leon both trained at Lakeshore Foundation.

Though at times heart wrenching, Warrior Champions is not a sad tale of the tragedy of war, but rather a story about the powerful role that sport can play in rehabilitation and pursuing one's dreams in life. It is an uplifting testament to the human spirit that challenges every notion of what it means to have a physical disability.

Your support of this film will help severely injured military personnel as they return from active duty.
