ALACARE ALBERTVILLE BRANCH HOSTS PANCAKE BREAKFAST FOR TORNADO RELIEF

Albertville, Ala.—Alacare Home Health & Hospice’s Albertville branch hosted a pancake breakfast on June 5, 2010 raising $2,200 to aid its community after a devastating tornado ravaged the area. Alacare made a company donation of $1,500 making the grand total $3,700. All proceeds from the breakfast will go to the United Way of Marshall County’s Albertville tornado relief fund.

“We wanted to do something to raise money so we could contribute help to our community after the tornado touched down and did so much damage,” said Albertville Branch Administrator Andrea Thompson.

The bright-and-early pancake breakfast was held at Applebee's in Guntersville from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. “This was the first time our branch had held this type fundraiser, and it was a great success,” said Thompson. “All of the staff including nurses, home care aides and office staff worked together and had a great time serving breakfast to the people in our community.”

Even though the pancake breakfast is over, the Albertville team is not done collecting donations yet. Anyone wishing to donate may do so by contacting Andrea Thompson at 256-878-8731 or the United Way of Marshall County at 256-582-4700.
