Thank you to those of you who have served or are serving and to those who have family members serving to protect America.
This Monday, May 29, 2017 all of us stand up and cheer everyone who so unselfishly served in our military or supported our military members, and in particular those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
At the Alacare home office Melanie Purvis, RN and Paula King have organized and created a Remembrance Tree and displays that feature some relatives of Alacare staff serving or who have served in the Military. Great job ladies!
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on May 5, 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
